Emily, the daughter of Robert and Jill Roberts, is a 2018 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She plans to attend The Ohio State University Mansfield Campus this fall and study history.

An iconic movie inspired Emily to choose history as her major. “In kindergarten, I watched Titanic for the first time and completely fell in love with it,” she explained. “I was fascinated when I saw how different life was back then, and that is what started my love for history. I love to spend time researching and learning as much as I can. After [high school] graduation, I was fortunate enough to visit Amsterdam and London…[and] experience the history first hand. That trip made me even more excited to start my career in history.” After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, Emily wants to further her education and ultimately share that knowledge. “My career goal after I graduate is to receive my Ph.D. in history. I hope to become a history professor and share my love of history with others and continue research.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Emily!
