Isidora, the daughter of Jillea Burling, is a 2018 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She plans to attend Marion Technical College this fall and study medical assisting.

Seeing a family member’s struggle with cancer and treatment he received inspired Isidora to choose her major. “My uncle who had been battling stage four cancer for 14 years… had been in and out of various hospitals,” she explained. “All of the medical assistants/nurses were very cheery and upbeat, which made my uncle happy and more comfortable during his long tough battle. They were very understanding and lovely people to be around. I hope that one day, I can have that much impact on someone’s life.” After graduation, Isidora intends to stay in Bucyrus where her family resides. “My family means the absolute world to me,” she stated. “But, one of my dreams has always been to work at Children’s Hospital in Columbus because I love children. [I would]… commute since Bucyrus is my home. Also, hopefully, [I can]… help out with the sports programs at Bucyrus High School and give back to the programs that gave [so much to] me.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Isidora!
