Alivia, the daughter of Kalvin and Barbara Lewis, is a 2019 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She will be attending The Ohio State University’s Marion campus this fall and studying speech and hearing science.

Alivia’s grandmother inspired her to choose her major. “My freshman year of high school my grandmother had a stroke that caused her to lose her speech,” she explained. “I would visit her and sit in during her speech therapy meetings. After watching her speech pathologist work with her, it made me realize I wanted to do the same. Ultimately, I want to help patients similar to my grandmother in the future.” After graduation, Alivia plans to work in her chosen field. “I would like to get a job in either a school, hospital, nursing home, or a private practice. Overall, I would like to own my own practice. My life goal is to help as many people as I can. Through my career, I plan to make many special relationships with my patients and have a positive impact on their lives.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Alivia!
