Eleni, the daughter of Rodney and Kathleen Smock, is a 2018 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be entering her second year of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at The Ohio State University’s Marion campus this fall.

Helping in a classroom inspired Eleni to choose her major. “I got the opportunity to help and observe in a kindergarten classroom in my junior year of high school,” she explained. “Needless to say, I fell in love with teaching. Being able to help kids learn and grow was an amazing feeling. I loved how I was a part of some big time achievements for these kindergarteners. It was so rewarding that I knew I made a big difference in their education.” After graduation, Eleni sees herself “teaching in an early childhood classroom. Whether that is in a rural school like where I grew up or even in a city school where everything is new, I will be happy wherever I am.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Eleni!
