Kaylyn, the daughter of Erik and Angela Gimbel, is a 2019 graduate of Galion High School. Along with graduating from high school this past spring, she also graduated with an Associate of Science degree from North Central State College. This fall, Kaylyn will be attending the University of Findlay and studying exercise science with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy through the Early Assurance Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She plans to minor in psychology and substance abuse disorders.

Kaylyn was inspired to choose physical therapy as her future career. “I want to encourage people to find the will to overcome the physical and emotional challenges that come with having an injury or disability,” she declared. “I thrive on working with people and developing personal relationships with them. Throughout my life I have learned that I enjoy motivating people, helping them achieve their goals, as well as helping them to recognize and appreciate their progress.”

In college, Kaylyn intends to “pursue research opportunities, job shadow, intern in various medical environments and find time to serve in my community through volunteerism. Additionally…I hope to find opportunities that allow me to step out of my comfort zone and grow as a person as I further pursue and discover new passions.” Kaylyn anticipates earning her bachelor’s degree and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy within five to six years. “I see myself returning to a smaller community as Dr. Kaylyn, working with children and teenagers as well as their families in a hospital setting. Ultimately, I want to raise my own family and serve in a community similar to the one that gave me my solid foundation for life.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Kaylyn!
