Crall, AlexThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Alexander Crall, a 2020 recipient of the Nancy Angene Johnson Scholarship award.

Alexander, the son of Steven and Michelle Crall, is a 2016 graduate of Wynford High School. He will be entering his fourth year of a bachelor’s degree in education (physical education and health) at The Ohio State University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life is meeting new people and being able to interact with them in such a nice way. Ohio State has such an awesome tradition, and it is like no other.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“Most of my learning I would say comes from outside of the classroom because after class is over you have to take the time to be able to digest the material fully. You have to make sure you put the time in on your own to make sure you get the most out of it!”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“The biggest interest at college that I have discovered is geography. I have taken 3 geography courses, and I have loved every single one of them. They have ranged from Extreme Weather & Climate Change to Global Economics. I never would have thought that I would like geography as much as I do now!”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“College has made me change my study habits and has improved my time management skills. It has shown me that getting things done early is better than waiting until the last minute and rushing around to finish an assignment.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“My advice for an incoming college freshman is have fun and enjoy the new experiences. Try something out of your comfort zone and meet new people.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Alexander!
