2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Chase Niedermier

Posted by Amy Vaughn on Mon, Jul 13, 2020

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Chase Niedermier, a 2020 recipient of one of the five Kenneth Cummins Scholarship awards and one of the two Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.

Niedermier, ChaseChase, the son of Jeff and Angie Niedermier, is a 2020 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. He will be attending Heidelberg University this fall and studying music education.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“My passion for music is what inspires me to study music education at Heidelberg University. I want to do for others what my school band director did for me. I had an amazing band director, Mrs. Niese, who inspires me to be the type of educator she is, which is to always be positive and help students to feel accepted, encouraged and confident.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“One of my goals is to graduate from Heidelberg University with degrees in music education and history. I would like to teach music and be a band director at the high school level. My goal is to enrich the lives of students and communities through music. Other goals I have are to own a home, have a family, and make the world a better place.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Chase!
