Taylor, CheyenneThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Cheyenne Taylor, a 2020 recipient of one of the seventeen Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards.

Cheyenne is a 2010 graduate of Crestline High School. She plans to study nursing through a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to registered nurse (RN) program at either Knox County Career Center or North Central State College.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“I liked being able to explore new things that I did not in high school like psychology and philosophy. I also liked being able to dive deeper into subjects that they did not go into in high school, especially in my history classes.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“When I was right out of high school I went to college for history and 100% of my learning was in the classroom. As an adult, learning in nursing 75% of my learning has been in the field.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“Once I went to college I discovered psychology and loved it.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I was able to learn things that I would not have otherwise.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Take a class that you never would have or something you did not have in high school like psychology or philosophy.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Cheyenne!
