2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Dalton Kent

Posted by Amy Vaughn on Fri, Jul 10, 2020

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Dalton Kent, a 2020 recipient of the one-time Jacie Everett Memorial Scholarship award.

Kent, DaltonDalton, the son of Scott and Kimbery Kent, is a 2020 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He will be attending Ohio University this fall and studying nursing.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“I believe I was put on this Earth to help people and make people smile. Before my sophomore year, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. After my grandfather passed away, I had learned that he had wanted to go into the medical field. He was unable to do this as his father had passed away, and he had to help his family the best he could. I want to fulfill his dream that he wasn’t able to fulfill. I want to make him proud of me.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“After I receive my BSN degree, I want to become an ER nurse. I’m still unsure where I want to live, but I want to be close to my family as well. As of right now, I want to live in Galion or Delaware after college. ”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Dalton!
