2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Grant Shook

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Grant Shook, a 2020 recipient of one of the six Robert Schwaderer Scholarship awards.

Shook, GrantGrant, the son of Brent and Sandra Shook, is a 2019 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. He will be entering his second year of a bachelor’s degree in animal health and welfare at The Ohio State University – Agricultural Technical Institute this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“Meeting new people because it allows me to make new friends.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“Inside the classroom - ATI has many excellent professors that take the time to help you really understand the topic.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“Dairy health and management has been a very interesting course.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“It has made me more outgoing and has given me the ability to feel comfortable meeting new people.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Have good time management.”
