Abouhassan, JohnThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce John Abouhassan, a 2020 recipient of one of the five fall semester Pry Scholarship awards.

John, the son of Emile and Sandra Abouhassan, is a 2020 graduate of Galion High School. He is attending North Central State College and studying nursing.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“Both of my parents work as nurses in the hospital, and I have always been interested in their work. I currently work as an STNA (state tested nursing assistant) at Avita Hospital, and I love taking care of my patients.”

What are your career goals after you graduate?

“After I graduate I intend on working in the Galion Avita Hospital as an RN (registered nurse). While working, I will continue my education and hopefully finish with a master’s degree.”

What are you enjoying most at college?

“My favorite thing about college is the material I am learning. I am very interested in what I am learning about, and I love the enthusiasm that my professors have.”

What advice would you give a non-traditional student who is contemplating taking college courses?

“I would tell them that a college education can have an amazing impact on your life no matter what life has handed you.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, John!
