Alspach, KatieThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Katie Alspach, a 2020 recipient of one of the three Pry Scholarship spring semester awards.

Katie, the daughter of Joey and Ashley Alspach, is a 2018 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She is attending North Central State college and studying occupational therapy.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life is meeting new people every semester and getting to experience all of the different activities on campus.”

In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?

“The college experience has changed me and also improved me because you are pushed to do better, but you are not forced. It isn’t like high school so it has taught me to manage time a lot around other things going on in my life as well.”

What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“A course I have taken caught my interest in psychology. This is now one of my favorite subjects learning about the mind of the human body and how it works.”

What advice would you give a non-traditional student who is contemplating taking college courses?

“Push and force yourself to do better because nobody else is going to do it for you. Procrastination is your worst enemy, so don’t let it get the best of you.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Katie!
