2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Lainey Holman

Posted by Amy Vaughn on Sun, Jul 05, 2020

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Lainey Holman, a 2020 recipient of one of the sixteen Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and one of the two Holmes Liberty Alumni Scholarship awards.

Holman, LaineyLainey, the daughter of Charles and Christy Holman, is a 2020 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be attending Ashland University this fall and studying nursing.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“I chose the field of nursing because I love to serve people. I like to listen to people and hear their stories. I enjoy helping to make people feel better physically and mentally. When I was trying to decide my next step in life, nursing seemed to fit all of my visions for my future. I wanted an occupation that would keep me physically active and one that would be enjoyable for me for many years.  My interest in mental health can also be explored as a nurse, and I love that versatility.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“My career goal is to find an immediate job as a nurse after graduating from college. I want to be happy and excited to go to my job each day. I would eventually like to own my own home and have a family.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Lainey!
