2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Makayla Aichholz

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Makayla Aichholz, a 2020 recipient of one of the five Kenneth Cummins Scholarship awards.

Aichholz, MakaylaMakayla, the daughter of Steven and Ellen Aichholz, is a 2018 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She will be entering her third year of a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Bowling Green State University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“Having more freedom because it is easier to work around your schedule and being able to do things when you have the time to do them.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“Most of my learning comes from outside the classroom through doing homework and studying the material and also being able to expand your knowledge on the subject even more.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I have developed an interest into looking into different aspects of businesses and expanding my knowledge on how they operate. I have also enjoyed my general education classes as I have learned more about the subjects than I previously knew.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I have grown more as a person by getting to experience a different world and have gained valuable skills that will be important in my future career.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Develop a schedule so you can stay organized.”
