The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation (BACF) held its annual Match Day event November 17. On that day, any money raised by organizations that had endowment funds with the foundation was matched $0.50 for every dollar raised by that organization. Although the foundation’s goal of $50,000 was not met, $35,000 was considered a much needed boost to local non profits by BACF executive director, Janet Pry.
“To use up the entire $25,000 match, $50,000 would have to have come through our doors” said Pry. Pry continued, “While we didn’t hit the goal, we’re still very pleased with the strong show of support for charitable organizations in Bucyrus and Crawford County.”
“It just goes to show that even in difficult times people are willing to monetarily support those organizations that are close to their hearts,” said Pry. The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation would like to thank all the organizations and individuals involved in making the first Match Day in Crawford County a huge success.
Donations for the organizations listed below are still being accepted and will be matched $0.50 for every $1.00 donated by the Community Foundation through December 31.
