The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation is proud to introduce the 2011 scholarship winners.

The Kevin A. Binau Scholarship

Aaron BishopAaron Bishop, Wynford High School

Parents: Roger & Sherri Bishop
College Attending: The Ohio State University - Marion Campus
Anticipated Major: Computer Science and Engineering
High School Highlights: “During the past four years at Wynford High School I have been involved in many activities, sports, and clubs. I ran cross country serving four years on varsity, and baseball serving two years on varsity. I was very active in rotary club, drama club, science club, student council, teen institute, 4-H, and the Nazarene youth group. My future has been prepared well through Wynford High School and my many community activities.”

The John W. Brubaker Jr. Scholarship

College Attending: Bowling Green State University 
Anticipated Major: Speech - Language Pathology 
High School Highlights: “Throughout high school, I was very involved in many organizations and activities. I was president of the senior class, National Honor Society, and student council as well as vice president of girls’ boosters. I played varsity tennis for three years, graduated at the top of my class, and was elected homecoming queen. I’m excited to continue my education as the President’s Leadership Academy scholar at Bowling Green State University ma- joring in Communication Disorders with the plan of becoming a certi- fied speech pathologist.”

The James E. Huggins, Sr. & Margaret M. Huggins Agricultural Scholarship

Anticipated Major: Landscape Horticulture
High School Highlights: “During high school I was involved in most of the music groups at Buckeye Central. I was also involved in FFA where I received my state FFA degree. Out of school I was involved with 4-H where I currently serve as Vice President of Heartland 4-H Club. Also I serve on the Crawford County Junior Fair Board and serve as a camp councilor for 4-H camp”

Parents: James & Melissa Shade
College Attending: The Ohio State University
Anticipated Major: Agribusiness & Applied Economics
High School Highlights: Tyler is currently attending Ohio State Mansfield majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Economics. He will be attending the main campus in Columbus in the Fall of 2011. While attending Buckeye Central High School, Tyler was involved in baseball, bowling, and Fellowship of Christian Ath- letes. Since graduation, he continues to participate in community service activities, works part-time at Pete’s Café, is an 11 year member of the Chatfield Blue Ribbons 4-H Club, and has served on the Jr. Fair Board.

College Currently Attending: The University of Findlay
Major: International Relations/Spanish 
Minor: Intercultural Studies
International Experience: “I am currently attending the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain with the American Institute of Foreign Study, an accredited study abroad program, studying Spanish and Spanish Linguistics since August 2010. This year has helped me earn credits towards my Spanish major at The University of Findlay. After returning to the states, I will be attending my senior year at UF to graduated the following May with a degree in International Relations and Spanish, minoring in Intercultural Studies. After graduation, I plan to volunteer a 2-3 year term with the U.S. Peace Corps, hopefully to be placed in Central or South America, working in Youth and Community Development.”

The Dustin T. Stover Scholarship

College Attending: University of Cincinnati
Anticipated Major: Aerospace Engineering
High School Highlights: “Over the last four years, I have been involved in sports, school organizations, and several community activities. During my high school career I participated in football, baseball, cross country, basketball, and track. Also, I was a part of the Leo Club, Teen Institute, Art Club, and National Honor Society. In my community I went to church, participated in youth group, went on the Appalachian Service Project, and I lifeguard a the local pool.”

nathan glowaskiNathan Glowaski, Wynford High School

Parents: Brian & Barbara Glowaski
College Attending: Miami University
Anticipated Major: Business
High School Highlights: “At Wynford High School, I was the senior class president, a member of National Honor Society, and a four year academic letter winner. I was a delegate to Buckeye Boys State, where I received an Outstanding Clerk of Courts Award and an Outstanding Citizen Award. I played football and basketball and was all conference and senior captain on both teams. I also participated in senior choir and the musical in school as well as piano competitions outside of school.”
