To celebrate Community Foundation Week 2011, we are spotlighting individuals who serve on our Board of Trustees. We would like to thank these community members for their dedication to help us provide direction for the future of Bucyrus and Crawford County.

Mike was born in Springfield in 1950, and moved to Bucyrus in 1952. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1968, and completed his college education at Otterbein in 1972. In 1975, he married the former Paula Cook, also a Bucyrus native, and they have 3 grown children. Mike owns Romanoff Jewelers and is a partner in Val Casting, both located in Bucyrus.

According to Mike, the #1 thing he enjoys most about Bucyrus and Crawford County is the small town atmosphere.

"Bucyrus and Crawford County was a great place to grow up and raise a family, with all 3 of my children graduating from BHS. You can't beat a small town for raising a family," he said.

When asked about the foundation's impact on the community, Mike feels the new office being renovated for the BACF is a sign of greater things to come for Bucyrus and Crawford County.

"The Bucyrus area is very fortunate to have a very well run and endowed community foundation that supports the various needs of the community. The new home office nearing completion should enhance the presence of the BACF in the community to further empower its message of community giving."
