The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation is proud to introduce the 2013 Scholarship winners.

The Kevin A. Binau Scholarship

Anticipated Major: Biomedical Engineering
High School Highlights: "In high school I have been a 4 year letterman in cross country and 2 year in track. I was the vice president for National Honor Society and secretary for Leo Club. In my sophomore year I received the B.E.S.T. Award. I also finished my senior year as valedictorian of my class."

The John W. Brubaker, Jr. Scholarship

Anticipated Major: Meteorology
High School Highlights: "I participated in marching band and concert band all four years of high school. I was also involved in Xband, a rock version of a jazz band. I thoroughly enjoyed being involved in band because I love music. My passion for running is shown by my four years of track and three years of cross country."

The Holmes-Liberty Alumni Scholarship

High School Highlights: "Over the last four years, I have been involved in a number of clubs, including National Honor Society, Student Council, Science Club, and Interact Club. Activities I have participated in include dancing ballet for Douce Dance Studio and cheering varsity for my high school. I am very involved with my church, Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene, and have been on multiple mission trips through the church. I enjoy participating in community service opportunities and sharing God's love with others."

High School Highlights: "In the last few years I have been very active in the community. In the community I partake in 4H, Junior Fair Board, FFA, and Youth Group. I have also been active throughout school, too. I participate in Project B.L.A.C.K., National Honor Society, and Leo Club."

The Jeanne A. Miller Scholarship

High School Highlights: "Over the past few years I have been involved in football, weightlifting, Interact Club, Art Club, and volunteering at the soup kitchen at Good Hope Lutheran Church. Doing all of these activities hae taught me the importance of being a leader. I have also volunteered at football camps and various banquets. Receiving this scholarship is an honor and I greatly appreciate it."

High School Highlights: "I have been involved in many activities throughout my four years of high school. I was involved in Leo Club, FCCLA, VISION, choir, softball, basketball, mentoring/tutoring students, community service, student of the month, and homecoming queen. I am very blessed to have all the experiences that I have had!"

Sara P. Gebhardt, Wynford High School

High School Highlights: "At Wynford I have participated in Choir, Cheerleading, Track, and Science Club. I am honored to have served as the Interact Club Local Representative and the Wynford High School Relay For Life Team Captain through 4-H. I have been the Crawford County Junior Fair Board News Reporter, a Citizenship Washington Focus Delegate, a Crawford County 4-H Camp Counselor, and the Crawford Little Critters 4-H Club President. Brenda Young has been my role model and advisor in 4-H activities."
