2017 08-23 Donation from CHS class of 1967 to Hutson Scholarship sized

On Monday, August 21, 2017, Bill Fisher presented Lisa Workman, President of The Community Foundation for Crawford County, with a donation of $500 from the Crestline High School Class of 1967 to the Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is administered by the Foundation.

The Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship was established in memory of “Coach” Merle Hutson, beloved football coach and educator for many years at Crestline High School. Coach’s career as a player went from high school to college to both pro and semi-pro. The only interruption in his coaching career was when he enlisted in military service during WW II. The football stadium in Crestline is named in his honor, and Coach was inducted into both the Heidelberg College Athletic Hall of Fame and the Ohio High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
