A new scholarship fund has been established at the Foundation by the Friends of the Crawford Park District in memory of Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck, The Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck Memorial Scholarship will award one $1,000 scholarship this year and is open to a wide range of students, from graduating seniors all the way through graduate school students. Applicants must be a resident of Crawford County who have earned their high school diploma or passed an Ohio High School Equivalence Assessment; OR must be a resident of a neighboring county who has graduated from and currently resides within a Crawford County school district. “This is the first scholarship at our Foundation that is eligible to students who were homeschooled or attended an e-school,” stated Foundation President, Lisa Workman. “With the wide range of where and how students get an education, it is great to see that we are empowering this sector of our student population to have access to scholarships for higher education.” Applicants can be attending any college, university, technical or vocational school and pursuing any field of study. Preference will be given to those studying environmental sciences or other studies that correlate with the mission of the Crawford Park District and to those who can display involvement in community service activities. “To encourage the completion of a degree,” explains Bill Fisher, Director of the Crawford Park District, “we wanted the scholarship to be renewable for the entire time a student is in school.” Application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5pm EST. Interested applicants may obtain an application for this scholarship on the Foundation’s website at www.cfcrawford.org.
