Barnette, SavannahThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Savannah Barnette, a 2020 recipient of one of the two Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.

Savannah, the daughter of Gregory and Beverly Kalb, is a 2020 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She will be attending Bowling Green State University this fall and studying education and human development.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“The thing that inspired me the most for choosing my major was my passion for teaching. Since a very young age I’ve always dreamed about being a teacher, having my own classroom, and educating children.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“After I graduate my life goal is to just experience life and enjoy the time I have. Tomorrow is not guaranteed so my plan is to enjoy each day on this new journey. In the long run I aspire to complete BG’s education program and find a teaching job somewhere out of state.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Savannah!
