Lipscomb, SarahThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Sarah Lipscomb, a 2021 recipient of one of the nine Glen and Alice Beers Scholarship awards and one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Sarah, the daughter of Nancy Lipscomb, is a 2019 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She will be entering her third year of a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Findlay this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life has been getting to meet new people from all over. I have also enjoyed getting involved in Camps Ministry, and I am so thankful that I found such an amazing Christian community.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“Since coming to college, many of my classes have exposed me to different things like American Sign Language and gerontology. I have discovered a passion for anatomy and physiology, and I have even started tutoring in the Academic Support Center on campus.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“Since coming to college, I have had the opportunity to realize what things are most important to me, and I have enjoyed building relationships outside the classroom. I have gotten to take advantage of new experiences both educationally and socially.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“I would tell incoming college freshmen to get involved on campus, but don't try to do everything! There are so many great opportunities for students in college, so make sure you have a good school- life balance. I would also encourage incoming college freshmen to get out and meet new people, and get involved in a Bible study or find a good Christian community on campus.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Sarah!
