The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Miya Kinn, a 2022 recipient of the Daryl E. Stucky Memorial Scholarship award and the Jeanne A. Miller Scholarship award.
Miya, the daughter of Lundy Allen Kinn and Melinda Marie Schneider, is a 2022 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be attending Ohio Dominican University this fall and studying Biology/Pre-Medicine.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
“I was inspired to choose my intended major for a couple of reasons in particular. I gained a fascination for Biology from my Biology and Anatomy teacher, Mrs. Kelly Wheeler. She was a very involved and exciting teacher in all of her classes. Through my freshman class, I knew that Biology was a subject that I had a passion to pursue. Additionally, due to my willingness to become a physician assistant, I knew that a Biology and Pre-Medicine degree would propel me into a Master’s Program at a respected institution.”
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
“After I graduate from Ohio Dominican University, I have many goals for my career and personal life. Firstly, I desire to get into a Master’s Program for Physician Assistant studies. Ideally, I would love to continue my education career at Ohio Dominican University. After my Master’s degree is over, I would love to come back to the Bucyrus community to specialize in Dermatology or Ear, Nose, and Throat. A life goal would be to keep giving back to the community through service hours. Also, I want to start traveling more in the future years.”
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Miya!
