Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Mon, Sep 11, 2023

Jordyn Alspach  The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jordyn  Alspach, a 2023 recipient of one of the six Arlene H. Smith Scholarship awards,  one of the six Crawford County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship awards, and  one of the three Kiwanis Kahle-Wenner Scholarship awards.

Jordyn, the daughter of Michael Alspach and Peggy Thornborough, is a 2023  graduate of Wynford High School. She is attending The University of Akron this  fall and studying Nursing.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"My mother has been a nurse for the past 20 years. During the worldwide pandemic, a majority of people took a break from their careers, but not my mother. My mom worked during the pandemic to test many individuals for COVID-19. This inspired me to major in nursing because I want to be in the action and not on the sidelines when there is a crisis."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"My future goals include being a nurse at a hospital in a big city. A potential goal of mine is to get my Master's Degree and become a Nurse Practitioner."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jordyn!
