Madalyn EnglerThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Madalyn Engler, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and one of the five Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship awards.

Madalyn, the daughter of Chad Garberich and Tabitha Garberich, is a 2023 graduate of Crestline High School. She is attending the University of Rio Grande this fall and studying Sports and Exercise Science.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I am and always have been an athlete. I would like to work with athletes in my career field. The sports and exercise major will allow me to do that in a number of ways, regardless of the career field I choose, whether that looks like me being a physical therapist, athletic trainer, or sports coach, I will have that opportunity."

What are you career and life goals after you graduate?

"After I graduate, I will go on to get my Master's and be a graduate assistant at Rio. After that, I hope to continue down the coaching path and eventually become a coach at a large program. Being a D1 softball coach is my ultimate dream and end goal."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Madalyn!
