The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Trevor Shade, a 2023 recipient of one of the five Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship awards.
Trevor, the son of John Shade and Amanda Shade, is a 2023 graduate of Crestline High School. He will be attending the University of Northwestern Ohio this fall and studying HVAC/R.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"An HVAC business in the family inspired me to choose this as my major. A cousin who I am close with is part of an HVAC business that his stepfather started, and that sparked my interest in the field."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"I want to graduate from the university in 18 months to get my HVAC certification, as well as obtaining my Associate's Degree. After graduation, I plan to work for the family business until I build my knowledge and can start my own HVAC business. Also, there is a possibility of going back to college to receive my business degree as well later on."
