The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Allison Lust, a 2024 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and the Richard E. Stearns Scholarship award.
Allison, the daughter of Matt Lust and Holly Lust, is a 2022 graduate of Wynford High School. She is in her third year of a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education at The Ohio State University.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is living on my own and developing a sense of independence."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"In my past two years spent at Ohio State, I have been given many opportunities with students who hold diverse backgrounds in the Columbus area. This has allowed me to find a love of working with students who identify as English Language Learners."
In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?
"The college experience has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and interact with individuals I may not have had the chance to interact with if I stayed home in Bucyrus. It has also helped me network with individuals who will support me as I begin my future career as an educator."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"My advice to incoming college freshmen is to take all the experiences and opportunities handed to you. College truly is what you make of it and the experiences provided to you."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list is to travel more!"
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Allison!
