The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Kaiden Sharrock, a 2024 recipient of one of the nine Glen and Alice Beers Scholarship awards.
Kaiden, the daughter of C. Aaron Sharrock, is a 2015 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. She is in her first year of pursuing a Juris Doctor at Capital University Law School.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"During my time in college, I have found my best friends. Through random roommate placements and club involvements, I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. My favorite college experience was studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain. I learned so much in the classroom, but even more through the culture in southern Spain. I would recommend studying abroad to anyone interested."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"My college experiences both in and out of the classroom have cemented my desire to pursue a law degree."
In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?
"College has made me a much more confident individual and has given me opportunities to grow both personally and professionally."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"I would encourage all incoming freshman to make the most out of every opportunity given to them. Sometimes, something you may think of as small or inconsequential will end up having the greatest effect on your life."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"I want to learn to speak eight languages. I love to travel and embrace new cultures, and being able to efficiently communicate with locals while visiting makes the experience so much more enjoyable. I am currently working on my third language."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Kaiden!
