Madysen YoungThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Madysen Young, a 2024 recipient of one of the two John W. Brubaker, Jr. Scholarship awards and one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Madysen, the daughter of Amanda Young, is a 2024 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She will be attending Ohio State University- Marion this fall and studying Early Childhood Education.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of being an early childhood educator. One of the main things that inspired me to choose early childhood education, however, was the vital impact teachers have on students. I have recognized the impact past teachers had on me as well as the impact I left on students when I job shadowed at Bucyrus Elementary School for Valarie Richardson, a current preschool teacher."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"As of now, I plan to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I hope to then find an elementary school that will be the best fit for me and my credentials. When I feel confident and steady in my career, I plan to settle down, buy a home, and start a family. Additionally, I would like to possibly obtain a Master's Degree to further my education and career."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Madysen!
