The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Ruby Stone, a 2024 recipient of one of the three Kiwanis Kahle-Wenner Scholarship awards and one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.
Ruby, the daughter of Gregory Stone and Erin Michaels, is a 2024 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be attending Heidelberg University this fall and studying Biology and Biochemistry.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I intend to major in biology and biochemistry at Heidelberg University this fall. I chose these majors because of my love for all things science. I have always had a passion for biological and chemical sciences and have always known I wanted to pursue those things. I have chosen to go into the field of pharmacology. I am very excited to get an education in something I enjoy learning about."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After I graduate Heidelberg University, I would like to get higher education. I would like to attend a school that has a focus in pharmaceutical education. This will allow me to become a pharmacologist in the future. As a life goal, I would like to use my education to help those who need medication to survive. There are many medications to make and improve. I would love to use my knowledge to better the world in this way."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Ruby!
