The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Ashtyn Rickel, a 2025 recipient of the Alyssa Pine Memorial Scholarship award and one of the two Kevin A. Binau Scholarship awards.
Ashtyn, the daughter of Kristin Rickel and Scott Rickel, is a 2025 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. She is attending Malone University this fall and studying Primary Childhood Education.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I love working with younger children and have always anticipated working with younger children for my career. I was also inspired by many educators in my life, but the most important one was my mom. She has worked hard with her students, and I want to follow in her footsteps."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After I graduate from college, I want to find a job as an elementary teacher. After that, I want to work towards my master's degree and eventually start a family."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Ashtyn!
