The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Edward Dagher, a 2025 recipient of one of the 20 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.
Edward, the grandson of Nawal Dagher and Sleiman Dagher, is a 2022 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Media Production at Bowling Green State University.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is the creative freedom to explore and express myself through media projects. Collaborating with peers on films, podcasts, and digital content has helped me grow both personally and professionally."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"I discovered a passion for documentary filmmaking and media ethics, which opened my eyes to the power of storytelling in shaping public perception. These courses have inspired me to pursue projects that highlight underrepresented voices."
In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?
"College has made me more confident and independent, especially in managing time and balancing creative work with academics. It has also taught me the value of networking and building meaningful relationships."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone- attend events, talk to professors and other students, ask questions. The more you engage, the more rewarding your college experience will be."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list is to produce a film that gets accepted into a major film festival. It would be a dream come true to share a story that resonates with a wide audience and sparks meaningful conversations."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Edward!
