The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Ivy Stewart, a 2025 recipient of one of the 20 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards.
Ivy, the daughter of Angela Fluty and Troy Perry, is a 2021 graduate of Crestline High School. She is pursuing an Associate's Degree in Education at North Central State College.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is that you get to continue your education. I love to be able to learn new things every day, and I get to challenge myself with the assignments when I'm not sure what we're learning about."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"A new interest that I have discovered in college is my interest in people. I love to hear about people's backgrounds and where they came from. I think that it is interesting that we are all so different with different upbringings, yet we all have the same goal of furthering our education."
In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?
"The college experience has improved my time management. There are many assignments that are due in one week, and it is easy to get overwhelmed with the workload if you do not give yourself enough time to complete each assignment."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"The advice that I would give incoming freshmen is to make friends with everybody. You never know who you might create a lifelong bond with just because you asked them how their day was."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list would be to go skydiving. I think the adrenaline rush from that would be like no other, and I can't think of an experience like it."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Ivy!
