Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Sun, Sep 28, 2025

Tanner AlseptThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Tanner Alsept, a 2025 recipient of one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Tanner, the son of Lisa Alsept and Kenneth Alsept, is a 2021 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He is in his fourth year of a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Studies at Tiffin University.

What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?

"My favorite aspect of college is the people. I feel like while the other aspects of college are important, I've made lifelong friends and connections throughout my time at Tiffin."

What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"I have discovered my love for residential life and everything it stands for. It means the world to me to be able to give back to the institution that gives so much to me day in and day out."

In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?

"I feel like I've become a different person. I have improved each year becoming the man I've always dreamed of being. I feel that with enough time and dedication, anyone can become that person."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"The advice I would give is to stick to the books and stay on the path. I feel that everything else is unnecessary and not needed."

What is one item on your bucket list and why?

"To graduate college and become an RLC. I feel that doing that will allow me to give back to TU for all it's done for me."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Tanner!
