Foundation Awards Over $180,000 in Scholarships

2021 Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Community Foundation for Crawford County recently awarded over $180,000 in scholarships to both graduating seniors and current college students. As President Lisa Workman explained, “Due to the high drop-out rate of college students and the high cost of postsecondary education, we have come to see value in giving an increasing number of our scholarships to current college students. This year, that amounted to $76,500 of the total $180,700 we’ve awarded so far, or more than 42% of our scholarships going to college students.”

Scholarships were distributed as follows either during individual school ceremonies or via mail:

  • Alyssa Pine Memorial Scholarship – Lydia Ackerman (Buckeye Central)
  • Crawford County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship – Allison Teglovic (Col Crawford) and Kael Scott (Bucyrus)
  • Crawford Forward Scholarship – Logan Collene (Buckeye Central)
  • Daryl E. Stucky Memorial Scholarship – Kassidy Stanford (Wynford)

  • Wynford FFA Rising Sun Scholarship – Kearston Hulsmeyer, Allison Scott, Levi Hartschuh, and Lyndie Williams (all Wynford)

According to Amy Vaughn, the Foundation’s Program & Office Manager, “Many of our scholarships are renewable throughout the college student’s academic career, but an applicant must apply each year and be chosen in order to receive the award.” Most of the Foundation’s scholarships are available for online application from November – March of each year.
