The Community Foundation for Crawford County Awards over $300,00 in Grants in 2024

Since March, The Community Foundation for Crawford County has awarded strategic competitive grants to local charitable organizations and municipalities totaling $324,319 and including the following recipients:

Competitive Grants went to the following:

  • Grace Brethren Church. – $3,000 towards their Gifts of Love Pantry
  • Crawford County Arts Center - $5,000 towards art programs and art therapy; $10,343 the Art2You program – on-line gallery and print-on-demand services
  • Bucyrus Little Theatre - $30,000 for a roof replacement
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Inc. – $5,000 towards lodging for Crawford County families whose children face life threatening illnesses
  • The Salvation Army - $30,000 towards renovation of their new Maplecrest facility
  • North Central State College Foundation - $45,760 towards staffing an additional part-time clinical instructor
  • Wildlife Haven – $5,000 towards animal food expenses of the wildlife rehabilitation program and stipend for two interns
  • American Red Cross of East Central Ohio - $17,016 to fund six blood drives in Crawford County
  • Galion History Center – $9,500 for replacement of windows and addition of door to Hayden-Helfrich Annex Museum
  • #CrawfordForGood - $7,000 towards a matching pool with fundraiser benefiting Crawford County non-profit organizations
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Marion and Crawford Counties - $6,000 towards a youth and young adult initiative to create a youth council
  • LifeCare Alliance - $5,000 for two full and one partial sponsorships for Crawford County children with diabetes attending an educational camp for teaching diabetes management
  • AxessPointe Community Health Centers (formerly Family and Community Services, Inc.) - $5,000 towards Crawford County senior volunteer recruitment (RSVP), retention and recognition, including background checks
  • Project Noelle - $5,000 towards support groups, prevention services and holiday events for Crawford County children with parents affected by addiction
  • Bucyrus Public Library - $33,200 towards expansion of the LEVEL UP program
  • Bucyrus City School District - $10,000 towards projector and screen enhancement for the Bucyrus Elementary School auditorium
  • Coleman Professional Services - $5,000 to fund the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) program comprehensive self-care toolkits for youth
  • Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio - $5,000 towards JA Inspire program for Crawford County students
  • Crawford Partnership - $50,000 towards continuation of Vision Campaign
  • Crawford County Community Concert Association - $5,000 towards improved concert offerings
  • #Giving2sday - $25,000 to award funds participating in the Foundation’s annual fundraiser, distributed on a prorated basis

Special Recognition Grants went to the following:

  • Crawford County Arts Center - $2,500 towards security and chairs to prepare for grand opening of new location
