Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study Scholarship Application

Description

Samuel Neff and his family, during the hundred years they were associated with the Bucyrus community, were actively involved with the larger world around them. Neff's descendants believe it is appropriate that the recipient is an internationally-minded young man or woman excited about engaging in a significant international experience and be willing to share that experience with others. This scholarship is intended for any Crawford County, Ohio high school graduating senior or graduate who is pursuing an educational experience outside the United States. Preference is given to Bucyrus students and graduates. Preference is also given to those who can show financial need and to applicants travelling to an area other than Western Europe. Exchange programs set up by other organizations, like Rotary or college semesters abroad, are applicable for this award.

There are TWO DEADLINES for this scholarship, MAY 15th and OCTOBER 31st of every year.

  • The May 15th deadline is for students traveling in the fall of the same year they are applying. (Example:  It is the year 2020.  Applicant X is going to be traveling abroad during the FALL of 2020.  Applicant X would need to get their application into the Foundation before the MAY 15, 2020 deadline.)
  • The October 31st deadline is for students traveling in the spring or summer of the year after the year they are applying. (Example: It is the year 2020.  Applicant Y is going to be traveling abroad during the SPRING or SUMMER of 2021.  Applicant Y would need to get their application into the Foundation before the October 31, 2020 deadline.)
If there are extenuating circumstances, you may apply at other times, but there is NO guarantee that funds will be available.
