The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Carrie Cross, a 2020 recipient of one of the five fall semester Pry Scholarship awards.
Carrie, the daughter of Connie Fritz, is a 2009 graduate of Bucyrus High School/Pioneer Career & Technology Center. She is attending North Central State College and studying nursing.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
“I have always had a passion for helping others. I started working as an aide at sixteen, and I knew one day I would like to be an RN (registered nurse).”
What are your career goals after you graduate?
“I would like to work in OB (obstetrics). I love the aspect of birth and babies. I would like to work at a local hospital. I would also enjoy working with children.”
What are you enjoying most at college?
“I enjoy simulations and clinical experiences.”
What advice would you give a non-traditional student who is contemplating taking college courses?
“Go for it! The hardest part is taking that leap, but it is so worth it! Things usually find a way of working out.”
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Carrie!
