Stacklin, CatherineThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Catherine Stacklin, a 2020 recipient of one of the seventeen Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and one of the two Marvis Schaaf Scholarship awards.

Catherine, the daughter of Don Hardesty and Teresa Fisher, is a 2020 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She will be attending The Ohio State University this fall and studying molecular genetics.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“In my family there are many health problems that have led to hospitalizations or early deaths. Because of that, I have always looked up to everyone in healthcare and questioned how genes affected health problems. With this major it gives me a chance to learn more about it.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“After completing my bachelor’s degree I have two possible career paths. I am deciding between going to medical school for oncology or into genetic research.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Catherine!
