The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jackson Moody, a 2020 recipient of one of the eighteen Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Moody, JacksonJackson, the son of Charles and Amy Moody, is a 2019 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He will be entering his second year of a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries and bible & archeology at Mount Vernon Nazarene University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life is the growth that comes through gaining new knowledge and experiences.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“I honestly think that growth and learning are brought about through a mixture of meeting new people and learning from them and gaining new perspectives in the classroom.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I have discovered an appreciation for philosophy that I was unaware of before I went to school. The works of Augustine have been of real use at school in many of my conversations.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I think that college has taught me how to grow in patience. When I first arrived, I thought I was ready to charge ahead in the pursuits of my degrees, and I had to learn that importance of taking one day at a time.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“I would tell them to surround themselves with good people who will uplift them in times of trouble, while also sharing in moments of joy.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jackson!
