The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jaden Deskins, a 2020 recipient of one of the eighteen Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“College allows you to choose you own path and define who you are. The food is better too.”

Would you say most of your learning comes from inside or outside of the classroom?

“Every day there is a new learning experience, inside and outside the classroom. I learn new things all the time, but if I had to say one or the other, I’d say I learn more outside of the classroom.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I have always liked music, but after taking a class on the Beatles, I have found a new love for their music.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I’ve learned how to be myself, make new friends, and take all the new experiences I can.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Be involved. Go to football games and social events, but don’t forget about your classes.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jaden!
