2020 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Kimberly Tuck

Posted by Amy Vaughn on Fri, Aug 07, 2020

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Kimberly Tuck, a 2020 recipient of one of the two Kevin A. Binau Scholarship awards and one of the two Mount Zion Milton Harmon Scholarship awards.

Tuck, KimberlyKimberly, the daughter of Monte and Sheila Tuck, is a 2020 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be attending Heidelberg University this fall and studying biology.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“I was inspired to choose biology as my major because that was one of my favorite classes in high school. I enjoyed all of my science classes in high school because I love to know why something happens the way that it does, and I always feel like I learned something new in class every day. My favorite part of biology class was dissecting the frog. At Heidelberg, they have their own cadaver lab, and I am very excited to learn and study in this lab. A major in biology will help me achieve my dream of becoming an eye doctor.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“After I graduate from Heidelberg, I hope to be entering a school that offers a doctorate degree in optometry. My career goal is to become an eye doctor. After I have gained enough knowledge and experience I would love to open my very own practice. My life goal is to be successful in my career and give back to the community whenever possible.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Kimberly!
