Bennett, CarlaThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Carla Bennett, a 2021 recipient of one of the spring semester Pry Scholarship awards.

Carla, the daughter of Carl and Bonita Brady, is a 1991 graduate of Bucyrus High School/PCTC. She has been studying in the health sciences field at North Central State College with the intent to become a registered nurse (RN).

What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?

“I love learning about the human body, how intricate a machine and how perfectly balanced everything is. It is amazing how it is constantly changing to keep the optimum balance for health!”

What advice would you give a non-traditional student who is contemplating taking college courses?

“Do not hesitate! The only regrets at the end of your life are what you didn’t attempt, not things that you tried that didn’t work out.”

What do you intend to do after you graduate?

“I will get my certification to be an oncology RN. The ultimate circle of life would be if I got to work on the same cancer care floor where I first received treatment, then volunteered on!”

Fun Question – If you could take a dream vacation, where would you go?

“I would love to go to Ireland. Both of my parents have Irish ancestry. It looks so beautiful, and I love an Irish accent over any other kind!”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Carla!
