Deskins, JadenThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jaden Deskins, a 2021 recipient of one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Jaden, the son of Bobby and Nikki Deskins, is a 2019 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He will be entering his third year of a bachelor’s degree in finance at The Ohio State University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“The best part of college life is going to the football games, attending events, and making friends.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I took a course on the Beatles, and it was very interesting. I have also found an interest in finance related topics, such as stocks.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“Being in college has really shown me how to balance my time, as I work at Dick's Sporting Goods as a Customer Service Specialist while also attending classes full time. For the most part, time is pretty tight, but I also have time to attend events, play games, and relax with my friends in my free time.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Make the most of every opportunity. Make time for friends, for you, and for events, but don't forget your classes!”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jaden!
