The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jocelyn Shade, a 2021 recipient of one of the two Rollie & Esther Wilson Scholarship awards.
Jocelyn, the daughter of John and Amanda Shade, is a 2021 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. She will be attending Bluffton University this fall and studying mathematics.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
“I chose math as a major with the intent to go into the teaching field. I chose this because math is my favorite subject, and I am good at it. It also always tends to be the subject people struggle with the most, so I would like to help people understand more of it and love it.”
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
“Some of my goals after I graduate college are to start a family and have children, eventually buy a house and car, and to pay off my student debt. A career goal of mine is to become an amazing math teacher in a school around the area.”
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jocelyn!
