2021 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Katie Tuck

Posted by Lisa Workman on Mon, Jun 21, 2021

Tuck, KatieThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Katie Tuck, a 2021 recipient of one of the two Marvis Schaaf Scholarship awards and one of the two Kiwanis Kahle-Wenner Scholarship awards.

Katie, the daughter of Monte and Sheila Tuck, is a 2021 graduate of Wynford High School. She will be attending The Ohio State University this fall and studying nursing.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

“I was inspired to go into the nursing field because I have a passion for helping people. Helping people not only makes me a better person, but it makes other people feel good about themselves and happy. There are many different routes I can go after I graduate with my BSN, which I also love. I want to go on to be a Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner and be able to help people feel confident in their own skin.”

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

“After I graduate, I want to go to Master's school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I want to oversee a plastic surgeon to get into the cosmetic side of things. I eventually would like to open up a medical spa to offer cosmetic services. I also want to own a wedding venue and a house to rent out as an AirBnb”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Katie!
