Stull, KatlynThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Katlyn Stull, a 2021 award recipient of the new Stan and Carolyn DeGreve Scholarship.

Katlyn, the daughter of Laurie Stull, is a 2018 graduate of Crestline High School. She is attending North Central State College and intending to major in education.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“When it comes to college life, I enjoy the healthy amount of stress that I am put under. Being under a healthy amount of stress keeps me motivated and punctual. It is easier for me to stay on top of all of my assignments when I am a bit stressed.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I am majoring in education, however going into this semester I had no idea what I wanted to teach. I am currently in a history class, and I have found a new love! I am learning all of these things that I already knew but am having a new appreciation for them. The history of our country is what makes it the country we know and love today, and I think that is so cool!”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“The college experience has improved me to be more punctual. Before college, I was typically right on time for everything, never late, but I always "just made it." I have come to learn that I need to allow myself more time in order to be the best student I can be. Now I stay about a week ahead on all of my assignments, and I make time for studying.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Do not wait until the last minute! It is so important to stay ahead of your assignments. Truth is, college is difficult, but you can be successful if you choose to be!”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Katlyn!
