Zeigler, ReeceThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Reece Zeigler, a 2021 recipient of one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Reece, the son of Chad and Michele Zeigler, is a 2020 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He will be entering his second year of a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at Hiram College this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life would be the feeling of being on my own and knowing that I have to be responsible for myself. It has taught me to be independent and manage my time well.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I was never able to take art in high school because my schedule did not allow for it. Now, having the opportunity to major in graphic design, I know the direction of my future. The art and design classes I have discovered have really brought out my interest in the arts.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“The college experience has changed me because it taught me to be more independent and manage my time well. I was pretty bad with procrastinating, but the courses I have taken have taught me to get things done sooner so that way I have my free time to focus on other activities.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“I would tell them to have fun, get involved with activities, and manage your time well because no one is going to be there to hold your hand through everything.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Reece!
