Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Thu, Aug 25, 2022

Autumn Schafer The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce  Autumn Schafer, a 2022 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold  Scholarship awards.

Autumn, the daughter of Brad Schafer and Carla Schafer, is a 2022 graduate of  Wynford High School. She will be attending The Ohio State University-Marion  this fall and studying Early Childhood Education.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I chose my major because ever since sophomore year of high school, I knew I enjoyed watching kids' minds develop as they learn new things. My junior and senior year of high school, I went to a career tech school for Early Childhood Education. My senior year, I was able to get a job as a teacher, and I knew that it was what I wanted to continue to do."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"My career goals after I graduate are to find a job at a school that needs good teachers and continue to learn more because even after you graduate, there is always more to learn. My life goals are to become a coach for softball or volleyball and share my knowledge of the sports I loved growing up."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Autumn!
