Jackson Moody The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to  introduce  Jackson Moody, a 2022 recipient of one of the 10 Glen and  Alice Beers  Scholarship awards.

Jackson, the son of Jack Moody and Amy O'Connell, is a 2019  graduate of  Bucyrus High School. He will be entering his fourth year  of a Bachelor's Degree  in Pastoral Ministries at Mount Vernon  Nazarene University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“I would have to say my favorite aspect of college is the community. God has introduced me to a wonderful group of people at school, both peers and professors, whom I have the distinct pleasure of doing life with. That experience has been so formational for me.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I have discovered a deep love for the history of my faith at college, as well as an appreciation for the field of theology. Learning about the church mothers and fathers has been a wonderful way to better understand my place in the story of God, and learning about their theology has really opened my eyes to how beautiful reality really is.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I would say that college has made me a more fully realized person. I have become more disciplined, more appreciative of others, more zealous for living, and more deeply invested in relationship with God and neighbor.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“I would tell incoming freshman to fully embrace their time at school. Take advantage of opportunities to try new things, craft a schedule that will allow you to flourish, and to meet lots of people who are different than you. I wish I had started doing those things sooner in my collegiate experience.”

What is one item on your bucket list?

“One item on my bucket list is to go to Europe. I would love to explore their cathedrals and historical landmarks. I have gained such an appreciation for those things in life that were built to last.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Jackson!
